News from Christi for Nov. 27

Hey all,

Are you out shopping? Yeah, me neither. I am staying away from all the madness. It does feel like the Christmas season is upon us now! We have several festive events to look forward to.

SING ALONG MESSIAH

Sunday December 13, at 3 pm, Melrose United Church

We have been invited to this event by the Back Elgar Choir. Tickets are $25, students are $10 plus HST. If you are interested in volunteering, they are looking for 8-10 volunteers to help out at the concert in exchange for free admission. Scores will be available for purchase ($15), or for loan at the concert, while supplies last. Feel free to bring your own. I’m going, and I know a few others are going to be there, so join us!

HANNAH’s KICKSTARTER

Have you checked out Hannah’s kickstarter yet? She is having good success so far, but she still needs our support. It’ll be great to hear her very first EP! If you want to help her make it happen, visit the link below.

CRAFT AND BAKE SALE

We are planning to wrap up our fall term with a craft and bake sale on Saturday Dec. 5th. Get ready to invite family and friends as this should be a really fun event. There will be festive music and a variety of baked goods and handcrafted items perfect for gifting. So get baking and crafting if you haven’t already…only one week to go!

CHRISTMAS CONCERT

We are booked to perform a Christmas Concert at Extendicare Long Term Care at 6:45pm on Wednesday December 16 2015. Address: 90 Chedmac Drive Hamilton Ontario. “They are thrilled that we are coming again!” says Marg, who arranged this festive event last year as well. Get ready to spread some holiday cheer!

Dates to Remember:

November 27–Rehearsal

December 5–Last rehearsal of the term and Craft/Bake Sale

December 16–Christmas Concert at Extendicare

See you on Saturday!

News from Christi for Nov. 20

Hello everyone!

It’s been a busy week, hasn’t it? Holiday plans are starting and we have a lot to remember, so let’s get started with this jam-packed edition:

LOST

One of our choir members lost her music, in a bag with “Devilbiss” printed on it. Has anyone seen it? Keep an eye out.

SOWETO GOSPEL CHOIR

Another amazing opportunity to hear choral music will be on Thursday Dec. 3 at 8:00 pm at the Burlington Arts Centre. The Soweto Gospel Choir is an enthusiastic 30-strong choir famous for its rousing gospel melodies. It would be a fantastic experience to hear this choir sing! If you would like to go as a group, please contact Kymme or respond to this email before November 26. Sounds like a lot of fun, doesn’t it?

HANNAH’s KICKSTARTER

Did you know our very own co-conductor Hanna Bech is raising funds for her very first EP? We at Hamilton Sings are obviously big supporters of local musical talent, especially when it’s one of our own. Go to the link below and check it out! Hanna says her goal is “to get as many people involved in the campaign as possible because that’s how a new artist can share their work in this new age. ”  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hannabech/naked-bones
